super expensive & not-worth-it dinner

went for dinner with andy, andy's fren & geraldine at tis sumtin 'Sun & Moon' restaurant at The Central at Clarke Quay few wks ago. Ambience for the place is *thumbs up*. Food deco also nice. But food quality wise... *SHAKES HEAD* Price wise, i wldn't go back there again!! total bill for 4 of us is $140 lor!!

tis is the super most bo hua sashimi dish. miserable few pcs, not good w soggy-bite. and tis cost 36 bucks!

some main course we ordered. the rice dishes all too dry and not tasty. oni the beef ramen dish is better. but then again, its super intoxicated with MSG tt makes the soup overly sweet.

well, there is at least some dishes that are good.

tis is an appetiser dish ordered. baked cheese w scallop, jin zhen gu & some mushrooms. very tasty

its some tofu-dessert. forgot wats it made of, but food deco wise very nice, and refreshing for the palatte, esp after eating all those MSG-infused food

the best of whole night's dinner will be tis green tea cake. not too creamy or cheesy for my liking. yummy~

one thing's for sure, i wun go back tis plc for dinner again. super bo hua. next time shd try the Waraku Ramen restaurant upstairs at Level 2 of The Central. super long queue outside the restaurant shd be a BIG hint of how the food quality is like. wait till i try that and giv my review again =)

busy packed day

yesterday has got to be the busiest and most packed day for me.
schedule as below:

1000hrs - send QQ to vet for spay operation & teeth extraction
1100hrs - reach studio @ Little's India for Han's shoot
1230hrs - leave and go to McNair Rd studio for Kenneth's shoot. they oni reached at 1400hrs, so was kinda rushing for time when i did the makeup
1530hrs - left studio and rushed back to studio at Little India for George's shoot. heng his client got lost and was late, coz supose to start at 1530hrs

supose to clear George's shoot ler then go back clinic and pick up QQ, but due to time contraint, so andy gotta do tt for me.

by the time i get home, whole body ardy so aching and tired, but think QQ's feeling worse. she's sooooo weak and can hardly move. poor thing, think her anaesthetic wears off at nite cuz she kinds of whines a bit when she's changing positions to sleep. nvr know dogs' sterilisation op is done via a cut in the stomach!

new brand, new domain

lately have been thinking of new names to set for my makeup biz. since now do makeup full time ler, so wana portray a more professional image.
Couple of things to do:

1) think of a new brand aka company name
2) set up a new blog just solely recording my makeup works (wolfie - blogsome dun seem stable ley!)
3) set up my own domain website using this brain name
4) fret about how to set up my new website coz me got no slightest idea how to set up a site!

after all these are done, then can start to market myself with this new image.
Just on Point 1 is already enuf to kill my brain cells! cnt image wat will hapen when i finally get down to Point 3 *arrrgghhh*

was juz packing my makeup stuffs juz now and realise i have 1... 2...3...4...5...6 bottles of hairsprays! of which, 5 are those BIG bottles and 1 small bottle.
shitz... why did i kip thinking i oni hav 1 bottle left, juz bought 2 more bottles last week sumore

well, this stock is gona last me till at least end of this year then.

my baby QQ

QQ have been in our family for 7.5mths ardy. very happy to see that she is finally accepted into the family by my parents, and is confirmed doing to stay!

I always tell ppl that my QQ is very blessed. Everyday she'll be kissed and hugged by at least 3-5 ppl. All wanted to have a bit of her attention. I think sumtimes she must be thinking "dun hug so much can? I wana play!" *haha*

She's born on 17 Sep 2007, and first brought to the family on 18 Nov 2007. From a tiny lil puppy of 500grams (yes, 500g only!), to now at last weigh 1mth ago to be 3.6kg. wow!! Last time juz need 1 palm to carry her, now help 2 hands to hug one lor. Really like looking at a baby growing up. Sumtimes if i'm out of the hse for too long, I'll start to miss her. Think next time if i hav my own real baby, i no nid leave the hse ardy *die*

Joyce mentioned wana see QQ. but wolfie say she scared of dogs. eh... contradiction yea? Anyway here's pics of QQ's growing stages to share.

QQ @ 2mths. juz came to our family, weighing a mere 500g!

QQ at 3mths. growth not much, at 600g. see how small she is. tiny tiny....

QQ @ 4mths. at the stage ugliest due to her 'botak' hair, shedding stage. also start to be a lil terror now. have to keep training her to pee at the right place.

QQ @ 5mths. terror constantly at work. so often being punished to stay in playpen. see la, sleep also so ugly!

QQ at 6mths. First time bring her out of the house for excursion! She sure noes how to get attention. Keep jumping onto ppl and wana sayang. aiyo!

QQ @ 7mths. Now expert at sitting cars, can even sit properly with seat belt on lor! she kinda looks like a mini shetland sheepdog hor?

As i'm typing tis, QQ is quietly sleeping in my room. hehee. Poor baby, juz had her 1st heat on 05 May. Can feel that she noes sumtin is happening to her, but duno wat is it. now constantly wana ppl to sayang her, carry her and she'll juz sit quietly in your hugs.

After her heat is over then can bring her out again.

i also dun why i post tis entry. maybe juz feeling blue
sick tdy - feeling feverish, bones aching, no energy, slightly nose watery

supposed to go for an interview at noon tdy, last min call them to re-schedule to tmr noon cos reli no energy to go out. also better, cos tmr morn also hav 1 interview, so can hit 2 interviews in 1 day

recently den start to send out more job applications and widen my circle of job search. realised tt in the long run, i may nid to get out of my own industry cos the area i'm in, is quite small in sg, plus i dun wana work in the operations area.
currently is the season where there is abundance of jobs out there, but at the same time, also a lot of ppl changing jobs. with so many applicants out there, employers are more picky, thus response to job applications are much s-l-o-w-e-r, as compared to last yr end when i was looking for job. Situation last yr was that, i get called up for every single resume i send out (and tts ard 3 ONLY), and i was accepted by all companies i went. As if i'm some hot stuff lor. den now everything so quiet... *sad*

Have been trying to keep positive and more enthusiatic in my job search.
Hope my 春天will come soon.

My 27th Birthday

*blink blink* so fast my 27th birthday is over 1wk ago.
darn... ardy got ppl wishing me 'a year older, 1 more layer of makeup' *u noe who u r*
not exactly true or untrue. a year older, means spend more money on skincare to condition the face. also means now nid to spend more time to 'conceal' all the lines and cracks before i go out *shakes head*

tis year's birthday reli spend in a quiet manner. no celebration with my usual big group of frens. starting with meeting someone on 0001hrs of 020207, then out the whole day on 020207. Lastly then dinner with family at nite. the next day then met lawrence, darrel, roy & laopo for bak kut teh lunch.
very simple rite? alrite bah.. maybe getting older ler, not very into big celebrations. not like simon, alwiz get himself high on alcohol on bdae celebrations *hah*

went to Taiwan again recently. 2nd trip back, din go to any new places (except for Danshui). went back to revisit my fav food stalls too. and tis time, finally got some inspiration to take some pics wic i'm satisfied with the end result. din get a lot of good pics, but hey, quality is the key, not quantity yeah *self-console* hiaks!suddenly in the mood to post some pics tt I took. so here's to share.

quite a lot of things have happened during tis past few mths.
brief summary:

Oct 2006 - lost something stable. totally lost after tt. decided to rest for 1mth then move on
Dec 2006 - started my new job. considered sumtin quite totally new. hoping for a fresh start
Jan 2007 - ended a 2yr relationship. realised things are not reli 'moving' in the desired direction. quite a lot of ppl were shocked coz none sensed any 'smoke' prior to tt. well, not tt there's none.. juz tt i nvr say mah.
Jan 2007 - quitted the new job. simply canot stand the boss, also the environment. gav myself a lot of excuses to try for 1 more time, but every single day is a torture. decided not to take it anymore, so throw in the letter. last day of work still hav to work till 9pm sumore!

seems like a roller coaster ride for me. oni difference is my roller coaster oni ride in the low valleys throughout. all thru'out my life, i'm considered quite 'heng'. no mater wat, i alwiz seem to be able to ride thru bad times. somehow rather, there will be a sudden twist tt will pull me out from the hole. but now, it seems all my good luck hav gone. bad events kip happening... feel so shitty man

in a few more days, 4 more days in fact, will be my 27th birthday. reli... dun hav the feeling of exciteness *is there such a word?* on the arrival of my bdae. 50% is due to the age. another 50%.... i duno who and how to spend tt day...
the oni thing tt probably excites me is getting pressies!!

Have got a wishlist drawn up. of course highly impossible tt i'll get them. but then, no harm wishing rite...:
- new watch, fanciful type *coz 2 of my watches are spoilt!*
- a new IT gadget. the new Samsung K5 mp3 player seems gooooood *slurrrps*
- sponsor for a hairstyling course *i reli nid to improve in tis area*
- tt 500bucks makeup trolley bag. i reli got LOADS of stuffs!
- land myself in a good, stable job *badly nid to get myself out of tis shit hole*
- sponsor for a liposuction job or jawline corrective botox jab *i juz watched 'Girls Out Loud' haha*

cnt think of more at the moment.. but i noe i hav lots more items in my wishlist.

As i grow older... the things i wish for is getting simpler.. but then, the more simple things are, the more difficult it is to attain.
i remember years ago, ppl kip asking me what i wan for xmas pressie. i kip replying, i wan 幸福. and guess wat? Jansen gav me a plush pillow with the wordings 'Happiness'. clever rite!

Tis time round, if i were to be asked the same qn, i will say i wan '快乐'.

13th Oct 2006 is the day the company tt i worked with for 5 years, retrenched me due to companby reorg

all thru tis period, i've been taking ample rest and doing a lot of things tt i always din hav chance to do. going out with mum, doing lotsa makeup assig, sleeping a lot, watching vcds etc etc. of course going for some job interviews in the interim

09 Dec 2006, in less than 2 mths after the departure, my ex-director contacted me and asked me back to the company. also back to sales dept, but work responsibility is different from what i did before i last left, but is sumtin i'm much more familiar with.

what a joke! ask me to leave and gave me a sum of money. den now even before i work in a new company, ask me back again. why? gime money to take a big holiday den go back slough out my youth again meh?
they'll be reli crazy to think tt i'll throw myself into the dead sea again lor!

is tis truly the right step, i'm not sure. but i noe tis step makes at least 3 ppl close to me happy.
actually i'm still not truly convinced myself, coz was given another VERY tempting offer few days ago, which my heart tells me to go take it. but my brain tells me not to. maybe close frenz ard me ardy noes wat shd be my answer right from the start, so they oni tell me to choose with my heart. but i simply cnt, i'm juz too rational at times.

Currently facing 2 job choices, in a dilemna which one should I go for?

Job #1
Company: Government related company, totally not related in any way to my prev job industry
Title: Assistant Business Manager (considered 1 level up from my last job)
Work Location: In a totally convenient location, prob ard 35mins travelling time from my hse
Salary: Basic pay is almost 1k lower than my last drawn. After addding all allowances, its still around 500 bucks lower than my last drawn. Will have further sales commission to be included
Job: Since is a govt-related company, mum says it would be quite alrite and not as stressful as compared to working in other commercial company.

Job #2
Company: considered an MNC and carrying an International brand. Fully related to my prev job industry
Title: Marketing Executive
Work Location: In a totally SUCKY location (Liang Court). Travelling time is chao chao 1.5hr from my hse
Salary: think they could pay sumwer around my last drawn pay. further details unknown at the moment
Job: super challenging to the max, with super short deadlines. Job scope is not in any way similiar to what I've done before. Support given is almost non-existent. However if able to pull it off, will emerge as a strong fighter and definitely add a big *star* to my portfolio

All those who reads my blog one, dun read tis entry liao den skip to next blog hor. gime some feedback as to which one should I go for? or should I giv up both posts and continue waiting for next better one to come along?

call it good karma.. one of my prev boss heard from my ex-colik about my situation, called me up, and asked about me.
He even tell me to send him my resume so that he can send to the relevant correct contacts and channels to look out for jobs for me.

Come on, call me sumore to help me find job. Not I call him to ask him help me find ley.
His present company is also shaky, so he's not recommending me to his company, but for our related industry.

Must remember to do more good deeds. You never know when they'll repay u back in good deed =)

couple of updates:

1) Suppose to receive the retrenchment list yesterday. But due to watever issues @ HR side, we are getting the list tmr. HR is holding a conference call at 5pm SIN time tmr.
Soooo... we shall see my fate at 5pm tmr. Wish me good luck?
Hav heard news tt its one of my sales mgr who've gotten 'IT'. but den according to past experiences, the company always giv very shocking news at the very last minute.
(Latest Update 13/10 - Shitz! juz realised tdy is Friday the 13th! gosh....is that fated?)

2) Finally doing Lancome Roadshow! Will be at the new Vivo City this Saturday between 11am - 7pm, working at Lancome's booth. I dun reli noe the exact spot at Vivo City, also nv been there before, so gotta reach there early to figure out my way. Money for the 8hrs of work is actually same amount tt i will get for 1hr of makeup assig i source myself. But then its the frequency of work that I'll get from them tt I'm interested in. I also do use Lancome products, so hopefully can noe someone there and next time can get staff discount *rubs hands with glee*
(Latest Update 13/10 - The coordinator @ Lancome called me last evening to CANCEL my assig! My work is actually supposed to help out in a Fashion Show. But they cxl the show now, so we've got no job. sianz)

3) Mixed up one of my assig. Few mths ago, my cousin's wife ardy booked me to do makeup for her and her mum as her bro is getting married on 21Oct. Mum told me canot chrge too much for 自己人. So i quote her verrrry verrrrry low.
But I just checked tt I'm supposed to go KL with my parents on this day. Gosh! Hav to quickly find a replacement makeup artiste for her, wic is not easy to do, given the extremely low rate i quoted her. Felt so apologetic...

Why everytime i travel sure kerna hav to cancel assigs?? Just on 21Oct itself, I cancel my cousin's wife's assig. In the morning, my pri sch fren also asked for my service on 21oct, but i cnt take it. Passed on the job to Ferene. very heart pain everytime i turn down a job. Cos my mentality is, once i turn down, i'll lose the job opportunity forever. haizz...

4) Doing an Actual Day wedding on 23Oct. Client used to be my ROM client. Supposedly to be an easy job, oni her face condition no good. But after trial makeup last wk, reli sweat man.
She din express her opinions during the trial. 2 nites ago then tell me she dun like to bun up her hair, and dun wan to do curls. but i cnt possibly giv her simple straight her for both day and nite hairstyling rite? And best thing, I feel she look verrry nice in curls!
Den now hav to research all over again for other hairstyles. And if this is not enuf, she super not confident in herself. So even if I manage to show her sample styles, she wun be able to see how she look like in tt style, cos i wun be doing anymore trial for her.
Gosh! can i hav any easier job for this??

enuf of ranting. so tired now... nid to slp early tonite. my dark eye rings getting worse these days...

wknds as usual. singapore is soooooo boring, tho shopping places hav been springing up quite a lot lately, but i still prefer to shop overseas.

anyway 1/2 of my wknds are spent on makeup assigs. interesting and also a source of additional income for me.
last sunday went to do a shoot for a malay couple. lawrence is the photographer.

Actually tt dae is the guy's 23rd bdae. So the gerfren thought to surprise the boyfren by giving themselves a makeover photoshoot session.
Quite natural posers. cos i dun see the usual rigid hands/body of 1st-timers.
they hav been together since after O'levels. should be together for 7yrs, but they still behave very lovey-dovey. very nice~ wonder if i'll also hav such lovey-dovey partner after 7yrs together? or mine will be plainer than water?

Today's Mooncake Festival.
still rem 3yrs ago on tis day, got 1 guy asked me out.
He say "do u wan to go Chinese Garden walk walk?"
I was like "what?? soooo 老土!!"
aniwae i find some excuse not to go.. dun wana giv ppl wrong impression la
actually for the past 3 yrs' Mooncake Festival, I spent the day at home ALONE.
duno why, on tis particular day, no one at home at all.
even got 1 yr i spend the nite crying at home, cos i felt very ker lian for myself.
one of my so-called 'pa' hapen to call me up when he's back home celebrating with his family, heard tt i'm alone, even asked if i wana join him. turned him down cos eventually, still not my own kins

Well, tonight, I'm finally not gona spend the nite alone!! yipee! no more lonely Mooncake Festival ler~

couple of bad happenings (as well as 1 good), all within 24hrs:

Bad Thing no.1
Company doing reorg now. All depts not affected, except for the sales team. wic means ME is one of them.
all 11 of us on tenderhooks now.. no one hav got the mood to work.. even my reporting mgr is super pissed off and started to sleep on her desk... out for 2hr lunch etc.
As her subordinate, duno whether shd follow suit. also duno whether i shd continue to work my ass off as usual.
Final verdict aka The Deadly List shall be out ard next wed. Shall see then.
shitz... my 1st company and been here for 5yrs ler. for them, i've turned down so many job offers, local as well as overseas.
But think of it another way, if i get the sack, better make sure the retrenchment benefits is GOOD enuf.

Bought a new digicam ystrdy. Have asked lawrence & darrel to accompany me down to the shop de. but due to some miscommunication, lawr did not inform darrel of the meeting. and lawr is late! end up i did the whole purchase myself.

last sunday's shoot

did a shoot last sunday for alvin's 'models'.
are they reli models, i duno. but den as long its not my wedding clients, i call all the gers 'models'.
1st model is actually considered the prettiest of the lot. coz she got slim figure and better face complexion, plus surgically fixed eyes. so after makeup, is very pretty and photogenic. also applied very thick/obvious makeup for her. but duno why pics turn out tt cnt see much makeup. according to alvin, its the way he did the camera settings. will probably choose 1 pic and bump up the color to at least original so tt its gd enuf to use for my portfolio

2nd model is an ex-sch junior. wana giv her a cool look and rim her eyes black black tt it look almost too big. plus she hav big eyes. but why the picture turn out not as expected... err my fault? but at least i managed to save the hair a bit. coz she've got short forehead, plus LOTSA baby hair and facial hair at the forehead. gotta do sumtin to bring up tt forehead siah~

hah! 3rd model and supposedly to be the more disappointing of the lot when photographers saw her. but hey hey... i'm MOST pleased with the final work i've done on her. gave her an uber cool look and kinda trashy type of hairstyle tt even the photographer was surprised at her final transformation. end up lotsa shoots of her was taken. i think she also like the cool smokey eye look i gave her. also had quite good poses wic suits the style i've given her.

alvin is planning another shoot in mid Oct and is getting me to be the mua again. of course no prob, but i tell him tis time no more haste planning. choosing clothes last minute at photographer's hse was super nitemare lor. the 3rd model have been changing and trying the clothes even before i start doing 1st model's makeup. until after i complete 2nd model's makeup, her clothes is still not confirmed. kaoz!
